Examinations and the examination process encourages every student to work harder in order to achieve their best personal potential. Examinations allow students to enjoy quality technical training, while supporting good competitive values and enhancing stronger performance abilities. Examinations are a memorable experience and present an opportunity for students to be critiqued and evaluated by professional dance master examiners on a yearly basis. Examinations and training will help students to build stronger character, integrity and lasting moral values for their future.
Classical Dance Arts holds a Certified Society of Russian Ballet studio status and follows the syllabus exclusively for regular term and examinations classes. The Russian Vaganova method is an intense curriculum and produces the finest technical Ballet dancers. Students may enter their first Ballet exam at age 5 and the Primary level. Students are required to take 2 Ballet classes per week from Level 3 and above in order to be fully prepared for the exam.
Classical Dance Arts holds a Certified ADAPT studio status and follows the curriculum exclusively for regular term and examinations classes. The ADAPT syllabus maintains the highest standard of dance educating excellence and requires each ADAPT Certified Teacher follow their mandate. The syllabus offers exams in Tap and Jazz disciplines. Students may enter their first Tap and/or Jazz exam at age 6 and the Pre-Junior Level. Students are required to take 2 Tap and/or Jazz classes per week from Junior 3 and above in order to be fully prepared for the exam.
Classical Dance Arts offers examinations with Acrobatique AcroDance. Acrobatique is an ADAPT endorsed syllabus which ensures each Acrobatique Certified Teacher is trained to teach and spot AcroDance safely and effectively. Acrobatique exams are offered every other year based on interest from Acro students. Students may enter their first Acro exam at age 6 at the Junior 1 Level. All examination material is covered in regular term classes.
Classical Dance Arts offers all students age 9 and above the opportunity to join the competitive team. No audition is required, however students must take a minimum of one exam to qualify for the team. Competitive students are also required to understand the focus and commitment level involved when chosing to accept a position on the team. Our competitive team travels to one competition annually.
