Cathy McKeown

Cathy founded Classical Dance Arts in 2009 and continues to provide dance education in all disciplines. A musician as well, Cathy has been able to combine her love of music and dance and share her knowledge in both aspects with her students. As a student, Cathy achieved her Intermediate Ballet Exam with the Society of Russian Ballet as well as her Advanced Tap Exam with the CDTA. In 2000, she completed her Associate membership with the Society of Russian Ballet. She studied at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music and the Royal Conservatory of Music achieving her ARCT in Piano studies. She returned to Timmins in 2005 to begin her dance education career at which time she began her certification in the ADAPT syllabus. Cathy has been successfully entering students in the ADAPT and Society of Russian Ballet examination process for 14 years and has upheld the Certified Studio status as a result. With over 14 years of teaching experience, Cathy provides safe and healthy training to all stages of the students’ development while instilling valuable life lessons.

Caitlin Minard

Caitlin has been dancing since she was 3 years old and is a former student of Cathy’s and Classical Dance Arts. Caitlin is one of the first Classical Dance Arts students to be examined in the ADAPT syllabus. Caitlin has completed her Elementary Society of Russian Ballet Exam and is a Certified ADAPT and Acrobatique Teacher. She has been a part of the CDA faculty for 3 years. Caitlin brings encouragement and joy to each of her classes.
